Marketing Associate

Job Summary:

As a Marketing Associate at HCMG, you will play an essential role in shaping and communicating our clients' missions and visions, helping underrepresented small businesses strengthen their voice, expand their reach, and deepen their impact. You will work closely with our team to develop marketing strategies that increase client visibility while strengthening or, in many cases, building their brands. This position offers hands-on experience in purpose-driven marketing and a meaningful opportunity to support HCMG’s mission of empowering underrepresented small businesses within the communities we serve.

What You’ll do:

• Develop brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity.
• Write, edit, and proofread marketing copy for blogs, websites, newsletters, and social media.
• Analyze current market positions to identify opportunities for growth.
• Evaluate marketing strategies based on data gathered.
• Create presentations, marketing collaterals, social media posts, and other content.
• Write engaging content for various marketing channels.
• Contribute to marketing projects.

Qualifications:

• Recent undergraduate student or graduate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
• No prior experience required — all are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Canva, PowerPoint, and other design tools.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Fully remote — no travel required. Preference for candidates located in New Jersey.

Technical Skills (Preferred, Not Required):

• CMS Platform (Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, HubSpot).
• Understanding SEO, Google Analytics, and Meta Analytics.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
