    Descrição

    About Grievia

Grievia is a global movement dedicated to changing how grief is understood, supported, and held. Through thoughtful storytelling, reflection, and design, we create space for honest conversations around loss, care, and connection.

    About the Role

We are looking for a Volunteer Grief Psychology Researcher with a background in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, bereavement studies, or a related field.

This role focuses on researching psychological and evidence-based understandings of grief and translating them into meaningful insights that guide Grievia’s educational content, resources, and wider initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring our work is grounded in current research, ethically informed, and emotionally sensitive.

You will collaborate closely with our editorial, creative, and strategy teams to help shape how Grievia understands and responds to grief across its programmes and community work.

    What You’ll Do

    • Research current psychological theories, frameworks, and emerging studies related to grief, bereavement, trauma, and emotional wellbeing
    • Monitor trends and evolving conversations in grief research, mental health, and community support models
    • Translate academic and clinical research into accessible, compassionate insights for internal use and educational content
    • Support the development of grief-related toolkits, guides, and resources informed by psychological evidence
    • Provide research-backed feedback on Grievia’s existing and developing materials
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform tone, structure, and accuracy of grief-related content
    • Contribute insights that help shape Grievia’s long-term approach to grief education and support
    • Ensure all outputs are aligned with ethical, trauma-informed, and inclusive practices

    Who This Role Is For

    • Currently studying or qualified in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, social work, or a related discipline
    • Strong interest in grief, bereavement, trauma, and emotional wellbeing
    • Confident in reading, interpreting, and synthesising psychological research
    • Able to communicate complex ideas in clear, grounded, and compassionate language
    • Comfortable engaging with emotionally sensitive topics in a professional context
    • Self-directed, reliable, and collaborative
    • Passionate about improving how grief is understood and supported in society

Previous experience in research, academic writing, or mental health education is a bonus, but not required.

    Why Join Grievia

    • Contribute to a global movement reshaping conversations around grief and connection
    • Gain experience in psychological research, applied knowledge translation, and interdisciplinary collaboration
    • Help ensure grief education is evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate
    • Work flexibly and remotely within a purpose-driven creative team
    • Receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of your volunteer engagement
