Join Friends of the Rouge to plant perennials at Fort Street Bridge Park in Detroit, MI on August 21st and 28th!
Majorly funded by Downriver Delta Community Development Corporation, the historic Fort Street Bridge Park commemorates the Ford Hunger March and is a public space for residents who were previously economically challenged to enjoy nature. Friends of the Rouge will be planting perennials to enhance the park's landscape and environmental impact on the Rouge River.
No gardening experience necessary! We provide all the instructions, tools, materials, and gloves. Snacks and water will also be provided. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Wear clothes appropriate for outdoor work, according to the weather conditions.
