Location: Remote volunteer role; Central Texas volunteers especially helpful

Time Commitment: 1–3 hours per week to start

About The Animal Cause

The Animal Cause, Inc. is a Texas-based animal welfare nonprofit founded in 2012 and incorporated in 2016.

Through The Shepherd’s Ark Program, we are rebuilding animal transport, rescue-support, outreach, education, and stewardship infrastructure for vulnerable animals.

Our mission is Christ-centered and rooted in biblical stewardship: protecting vulnerable animals, restoring human responsibility, and building practical systems of care, transport, education, and public accountability.

Current Need

We are looking for reliable volunteers who can take ownership of one specific area of support.

This is not a high-volume volunteer program. We are rebuilding carefully and need people who can help with focused, practical work.

Volunteer Support Lanes

Applicants may be considered for one or more of the following areas:

Animal Placement & Rescue Outreach

Helping contact rescues, receiving partners, shelters, and foster-based organizations; tracking responses; helping prepare follow-up notes.

Data & Contact Research

Helping build and clean shelter/rescue contact lists, verify emails, organize spreadsheets, and track outreach status.

Fundraising & Donor Support

Helping prepare donor updates, sponsor outreach, fundraiser language, and practical support requests.

Social Media & Public Content Support

Helping prepare posts, animal features, updates, graphics, and public-facing stewardship content.

Central Texas Practical Support Coordination

Helping identify churches, businesses, animal contacts, local donors, parking leads, supply donors, and community support resources.

Administrative / Mission Support

Helping with email organization, volunteer tracking, document preparation, research, and general nonprofit support tasks.

You do not need experience in every area. A good volunteer may help with only one defined task.

Current Urgent Priorities

Immediate support is especially needed with:

• animal placement outreach
• rescue and receiving-partner research
• spreadsheet cleanup and contact verification
• fundraising and donor updates
• Central Texas community support leads
• public-facing updates for The Shepherd’s Ark

Good Fit

This may be a good role for someone who is:

• reliable and responsive
• organized and detail-oriented
• comfortable using email, Google Sheets, Google Forms, or Canva
• able to follow through on assigned tasks
• interested in animal welfare, nonprofit service, faith-based work, or community impact
• willing to serve with humility, compassion, and integrity

Faith and Mission Alignment

The Animal Cause is a Christ-centered nonprofit. Volunteers do not need to have every answer, but they should be comfortable serving within a mission framework rooted in stewardship, compassion, accountability, and service to God’s creatures.
