    Orientações

SEVA Travelers offers six host organizations to choose from in Brazil, spanning major cultural and economic centers such as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Belo Horizonte. These placements give volunteers the opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives advancing education, mental health, social entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation, and community empowerment. Volunteers will work alongside visionary nonprofits focused on strengthening fundraising capacity, strategic communication, and organizational leadership, all while experiencing Brazil’s vibrant culture, creativity, and social resilience.

These vetted and verified NGOs include:

    Rede Cidadã – Belo Horizonte

A national network that promotes social inclusion through employment and community development programs. Rede Cidadã is beginning to expand its fundraising internationally and seeks volunteers to help develop strategies for donor outreach beyond Brazil, identify international partners, and design campaigns that communicate the organization’s impact in employment generation and youth empowerment.

Dara Institute – Rio de Janeiro

A globally recognized social organization that breaks the cycle of poverty through an integrated social assistance and health model. Volunteers will support Dara in structuring international fundraising through platforms like GlobalGiving and Benevity Causes, identifying potential international donors, and designing donor communication strategies to enhance visibility and global engagement.

Instituto Dom – Rio de Janeiro

An organization empowering young people and professionals through leadership, education, and social innovation. Volunteers will help strengthen the institute’s fundraising foundation by refining donor presentations, identifying potential international partners, and helping establish connections with global foundations and grantmakers.

Favela Inc. – Rio de Janeiro

An ecosystem of social enterprises and community-based projects in Rio’s favelas, Favela Inc. fosters entrepreneurship and sustainable impact. Volunteers will support the development of a cohesive fundraising strategy, finalize website content, create compelling pitch decks, and identify grant opportunities. This work will help the organization elevate visibility, generate income for low-income families, and expand opportunities for favela-based businesses and nonprofits.

Instituto Ame Sua Mente – São Paulo

A mental health organization committed to improving emotional well-being through education and awareness. Volunteers will help build a structured fundraising program, strengthen relationships with major donors, and identify new opportunities for individual giving and corporate sponsorships to sustain and expand their mental health programs nationwide.

Associação de Apoio à Criança em Risco (ACER Brasil) – São Paulo

Working to protect and empower at-risk children and families, ACER Brasil focuses on education, sports, and community engagement. Volunteers will provide executive coaching to the Secretary General to strengthen organizational leadership and strategic focus, while also developing digital fundraising campaigns—particularly through GlobalGiving—to expand their U.S. donor base.
