Volunteer Opportunity: Wildlife Care Assistant
Are you passionate about helping native wildlife and making a hands-on difference in animal rehabilitation? Our clinic and enclosure site are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with feeding and habitat care for animals undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
What You’ll Do
As a Wildlife Care Assistant, you will:
- Prepare and distribute species-appropriate diets
- Handle and portion frozen mice and rats for feeding (required)
- Feed animals according to detailed care instructions
- Clean and sanitize enclosures, kennels, and feeding areas
- Replace bedding and enrichment materials
- Wash dishes and feeding tools
- Observe and report animal behavior or health concerns to staff
Your work directly supports the recovery and successful release of native wildlife back into their natural habitats.
Important Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Comfortable handling frozen mice and rats
- Able to follow strict hygiene and safety protocols
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in environments with animal waste, odors, and occasional exposure to injured wildlife

Schedule & Commitment
- Shifts available at both our veterinary clinic and outdoor enclosure site
- Minimum commitment of one day per week (2-3 hrs) time requirement
