Board Member

Impact Network Together with PEAS, is seeking dynamic, mission-driven leaders to serve a three-year term on our Board of Directors beginning in March 2026. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about expanding access to quality education and eager to help us serve over 275,000 children across Africa each year. Ideal candidates will bring their time, skills, networks, and strategic insight to help drive our mission forward and deepen our impact in underserved communities.

Our Work

We believe every child deserves access to a quality education. For 12 years, we have been delivering transformative education to some of the poorest children in Eastern Zambia across 42 primary schools. Findings from our randomized controlled trial show strong results on improving literacy and numeracy.

In 2024, Impact Network launched an exciting new partnership with PEAS. PEAS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to affordable, high-quality secondary education in rural Africa. Together, we’ll provide high-quality education to over 275,000 students annually across 376 schools in Zambia, Uganda, and Ghana, creating a comprehensive K-12 education pipeline. This partnership will not only allow students to transition seamlessly into secondary school but will also strengthen our ability to deliver impactful, evidence-based programs in both primary and secondary education.

Over the next few months, we will be formally launching PEAS USA, advancing this combined mission across the U.S. philanthropic landscape

Qualifications

We are especially interested in candidates who:

• Champion Our Mission: Individuals who are passionate about expanding access to quality education and excited to support our growth.
• Are Willing to Fundraise: You do not need prior nonprofit or fundraising experience just a willingness to help us raise our visibility, open doors, and connect us to networks.
• Bring Relevant Skills or Perspectives: This may include communications, leadership, education, international development, or community engagement.

Role and Responsibilities

Board members play a critical role in guiding the future of PEAS USA. Responsibilities include:

• Strategic Planning: Shaping organizational priorities as we grow our reach and impact.
• Financial Oversight: Reviewing and approving budgets and ensuring strong fiscal stewardship.
• Fundraising & Advocacy: Supporting fundraising and serving as ambassadors for our mission.
• Governance & Policy: Helping set policies and ensuring effective governance.
• Engagement: Attending at least 75% of board and committee meetings, annual retreats, and special events such as our Annual Gala.

This is a volunteer role, with full remote participation available. Board members are encouraged to visit our schools to see the impact of their leadership firsthand.
