Help advance transparency and accountability around Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP/UFO).
Citizens for Disclosure was founded by Harvard-trained constitutional attorney Daniel Sheehan, a public interest lawyer and his life partner Sara Nelson. Founding members of the Christic Institute, now known as the Romero Institute.
Mr. Sheehan first gained national prominence as co-counsel in the landmark Silkwood v. Kerr-McGee Corp. case, representing the family of nuclear whistleblower Karen Silkwood. The case resulted in a historic jury verdict and established important precedent for corporate accountability in the nuclear industry.
He later helped support legal efforts connected to the New York Times Co. v. United States (the Pentagon Papers case), contributed to investigations during the Watergate scandal, and pursued accountability during the Iran-Contra affair.
More recently, he has worked on legal matters connected to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, advocating for Indigenous rights and environmental protections.
Today, through Citizens for Disclosure, he is applying that same legal rigor and constitutional focus to advancing UAP transparency and federal disclosure policy across all 435 U.S. congressional districts.
