What We Need: At Landmarks for Families, we rely on volunteers to help maintain our essential Storehouse, which serves as a resource for both our residents and community families. The Storehouse is stocked with vital items, including toys, games, clothes, hygiene products, and more. Volunteers are needed to assist with organizing, sorting, and preparing these donations for distribution. Volunteers will also help keep the space clean, organized, and ready for use by the families we serve.
Who We Are: For over 230 years, Landmarks for Families has been dedicated to supporting children and families through our continuum of care, which includes programs in Education, Preservation, Residential, and Reunification services. Founded in 1790 as the Charleston Orphan House, we are the longest-operating nonprofit in South Carolina and the first municipal orphanage in the United States.
Our mission is to cultivate thriving children and families. Through our evidence-based approach, we provide the necessary support to prevent crises, ensure safety when needed, and offer ongoing assistance to help families thrive.
Our Mission:
To cultivate thriving children and families.
Our Vision:
All children will have loving and stable families and a nurturing community that empowers them to lead successful lives.
Why Volunteer With Us? By volunteering with Landmarks for Families, you’ll be directly impacting the lives of families in need. Your time and effort will help provide a clean, organized, and accessible resource for those who rely on our Storehouse. Join us as we continue to fulfill our mission and support children and families in our community.
If you're ready to make a difference, we’d love to have you on board!
