WeRide Information Session Volunteer Opportunity

City of Irvine Older Adults Services are looking for volunteers to support 60 and over Older Adults by assisting them with downloading the WeRide application during the WeRide Information Sessions meetings, see scheduled at the link : Catalog - City of Irvine

Duties:

• Independently assist older adults with downloading the WeRide application on Android and Apple mobile devices.
• Support patrons in navigating the WeRide application, including account setup and basic features.
• Provide clear, patient, and step-by-step guidance to individuals with limited technology skills.

Days & Hours:

• Determined by needs – 2 Days a week, 1-hour sessions

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

• Knowledgeable in navigating Android and Apple mobile devices.
• Familiarity with email applications and web browser applications.
• Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with older adults, other volunteers, and staff.
• Patience and willingness to work with individuals who have limited technology experience.
• Fluency in another language is a plus but not required.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 14 years of age
• Commitment to assisting older adults in gaining confidence using mobile technology

Additional Requirements:

• Complete appropriate paperwork
• Abide by the City of Irvine’s Patron’s Code of Conduct and the Senior Services Code of Conduct
