    New Digs Rehoming Program Coordinator (Remote Volunteer Position)

    Dallas Pets Alive! is a highly respected animal rescue organization and provides the perfect place to utilize your skills to grow personally and professionally. Our mission is to promote and provide the resources, education, and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals in North Texas - and volunteers make our mission a reality.

    As a New Digs Rehoming Coordinator, you'll help manage an innovative responsible rehoming Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) Program.

    Team: PASS

    Location: Remote/Virtual - Virtual from anywhere, understanding we are in the CST time zone.

    Time Commitment: 2-4 hours/week

    Compensation: This is a Volunteer Position with no monetary compensation.

    Reports to: The PASS Director and Rehoming Program Team Lead

    Works with: The general public, other PASS volunteers, the PASS Director, Foster Team, Adoption Team and members of Dallas Pets Alive! (DPA) leadership

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assist in reviewing candidate applications and collecting information from North Texas families for participation

    • Ensuring that all pets participating in the program are altered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped and assist with coordinating resources to do so if not

    • Ensuring that approved pets are placed on the DPA website with applicable information and removed post adoption

    • Review prospective adopters and provide support to families who are looking to rehome their pets

    • Ensure adoption agreements are completed between pet owners and adopters

    • Tracking and follow up of all pets in and out of the rehoming program

    • Ensure emails are responded to within 48 hours

    Skills and Qualifications best suited for this position:

    • Professional and empathetic attitude

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • Proficiency with Gmail and G-Suite applications

    • Must exhibit compassion and non-judgement for individuals considering rehoming their pets

    • Google Drive experience required

    • PASS, counseling, social work or rescue experience is helpful

    • Bilingual language ability helpful but not required

    • Ability to operate a computer or mobile device

    • The following activities are required: The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

    • Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare.
