YES 2 YOU is a nonprofit organization seeking committed, diverse, and experienced volunteer Board members to guide the organization and support its growth. Board members will work collaboratively to shape policies and strategy for YES 2 YOU’s future, and provide direction and counsel for YES 2 YOU leadership.
YES 2 YOU is dedicated to empowering underserved youth and enriching the lives of seniors through transformative STEAM education and activities. Our mission is to provide high-quality STEAM learning experiences that integrate social and emotional learning for youth, and to offer intellectually stimulating activities for seniors that foster cognitive health and social connections. We believe in the potential of every individual and strive to empower them through education and engagement. We are committed to creating accessible opportunities for all, regardless of background or circumstance. We value the strength of community and seek to build meaningful connections through our programs. We embrace creativity and forward-thinking approaches to enhance learning and well-being.
At this time, we are especially seeking volunteers with or without previous nonprofit board experience, those with professional expertise in the fields of Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing, and/or Finance. Board members do not need to be based in San Antonio, TX.
What does the Board of Directors do?
YES 2 YOU’s Board are volunteers who share their expertise, influence, knowledge, and resources to secure a strong future for the organization. Board members come from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds. The Board is responsible for managing and setting long term priorities, as well as overseeing and advising the Executive Director, who is responsible for YES 2 YOU's day-to-day management.
The relationship between each Board member and YES 2 YOU is of critical importance and supports the administrative, fundraising, financial, and strategic functions of the organization. Board members are stewards of YES 2 YOU’s mission, promoters of the work, and champions of the cause. Board members leverage connections and networks to bring additional resources to the organization.
