The Affair for Air Gala

Join the American Lung Association in Rhode Island as a volunteer for the 2nd Annual Affair for Air Gala on Friday, November 13, 2026, at Graduate Providence.

This elegant evening will bring together community leaders, healthcare professionals, corporate partners and supporters for dinner, an open bar, silent and live auctions, inspiring stories and entertainment, all in support of a future free from lung disease.

Volunteers are essential to creating a welcoming, memorable experience for our guests and ensuring the event runs smoothly. Opportunities may include:

• Event setup and décor
• Guest registration and check-in
• Greeting guests and providing directions
• Assisting with silent and live auction activities
• Supporting raffles and other fundraising activities
• Helping during the dinner and mission program
• Guest checkout and prize distribution
• Event breakdown and cleanup

We are seeking dependable, friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who are comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment. Specific assignments and training will be provided before the gala. Some roles may require standing or moving around the venue for extended periods. Volunteers will also be asked to wear suits/tuxes or dresses (black-tie optional) along with our event guests and Lung Association staff.

By volunteering, you will help the American Lung Association raise critical funds and awareness for lifesaving research, education, advocacy and programs that support people affected by lung disease. Your time and energy will allow our staff to focus on connecting guests more deeply with our mission and maximizing the evening’s impact throughout Rhode Island and beyond.
