The New York State Mentoring Program (NYSMP) is a state-wide provider of mentoring services. We support youth servicing organizations to establish and maintain a mentoring program utilizing a site-based mentoring program designed to match one youth with one adult mentors. Mentors guide our youth in developing better self-esteem, creating healthy relationships and making positive life choices. Through structured activities, and a site coordinator to facilitate sessions, the program offers the maximum support to volunteer mentors and their mentees.
All mentoring sessions are site-based and take place at a school or office space in Chelesa at a set time and day. Programming will be starting soon!
- Youth: Ages 10-13
- Day: Every other Tuesday
- Time: 4:00 pm-5:00 pm
- Location: West 28th Street

Steps to Become a Mentor:
- Complete the NYSMP Application form.
- Attend a 1.5-hour New Mentor Training via Zoom .
- Background Check- Including fingerprinting
- Department of Health Paperwork (Including TB Screening & Medical Clearance)
- Reference Checks
