8/29 Ecological Restoration Volunteer Day at Gopher Tortoise Preserve, Boca Raton

Join the Institute for Regional Conservation and the City of Boca Raton to restore a portion of Gopher Tortoise Preserve! On Saturday, August 29th come volunteer with us for fun event where participants will help us wrangle nonnative weeds that are taking over the site. We need many hands to keep these pesky weeds at bay and reduce pressure of these nonnative and invasives weeds from taking over the natural scrub habitat.

There is no experience required! So grab a friend and come out to help repair the essential biodiversity of the Gopher Tortoise Preserve Park. Whether this is your first volunteer event with us or you're a repeat volunteer, we are so excited to have you join the IRC family and see how much fun habitat restoration can be!

We recommend that you wear comfortable outdoor clothing, you will be in full sun. Wear a hat and sunscreen! Bring a reusable water bottle and anything else that makes you comfortable in the outdoors! We will provide the rest.
