Tahoma Bird alliance offers classes to our members and others in the community who want to learn more about birds and their habitats. We also offer occassional bird- and nature-related workshops. Some examples of past classes include making and painting birdhouses, nature journaling, forest bathing, and of course, birding! We've also started offering presentations for other organizations such as libraries, senior centers, and 4H groups.
Volunteer instructors may design, plan and lead their class. Tahoma Bird Alliance staff help with review, fact checking, feedback, and marketing. You can also learn to present one of our existing classes.
We are particularly looking for people with birding experience and knowledge who could teach intermediate- or advanced-level classes.
In-person classes can be held in the conference room at the Adriana Hess Wetland Center. If you'd prefer to teach a virtual class, we can host it on our Zoom account.
