    About Global Paint for Charity

Global Paint for Charity (GPC) is a globally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit and hybrid social enterprise advancing circular economy solutions to address paint waste, environmental sustainability, and community revitalization. Since 2010, GPC has diverted millions of gallons of surplus paint from landfills and waterways and redistributed it to support housing rehabilitation projects at schools, playgrounds, women's clinics, public art installations, and infrastructure projects in 44 countries. Our work intersects environmental policy, economic development, workforce training, and community resilience.

    Position Overview

The Public Policy and Research Coordinator will play a critical role in advancing GPC’s policy agenda at the local, state, national, and global levels. This position supports research, analysis, policy development, and strategic communications related to paint waste management, recycling systems, environmental justice, workforce development, and nonprofit funding structures.

This role is ideal for a policy professional with strong analytical skills, experience working with public-sector stakeholders and elected officials, and the ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable insights to inform advocacy, request funding, and program design.

    Key Responsibilities

    Policy Research and Analysis

    • Conduct in-depth policy research and analysis related to environmental sustainability, waste management, circular economy systems, housing, and community development
    • Evaluate federal, state, and local policies and funding mechanisms impacting nonprofits, recycling infrastructure, and environmental programs
    • Identify policy gaps, barriers, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations

    Strategic Advisory and Thought Leadership

    • Support the development of white papers, policy briefs, reports, and position statements for policymakers, funders, and partners
    • Contribute to thought leadership in public sector and nonprofit markets through research-driven content
    • Assist in preparing testimony, presentations, and briefing materials for elected officials, agencies, and advisory bodies

    Program Evaluation and Data Analysis

    • Conduct data-driven evaluations of public and nonprofit programs, including environmental and housing-related initiatives
    • Analyze program outcomes and performance metrics to support grant applications, reporting, and policy advocacy
    • Support quality assurance and compliance for publicly funded and grant-supported initiatives

    Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Support cross-functional project teams to meet research and policy deliverables on time and within scope
    • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and external partners including government agencies, universities, and foundations
    • Assist in managing knowledge transfer, documentation, and internal learning related to policy initiatives

    Funding and Proposal Support

    • Support grant development by providing policy context, research findings, and data narratives
    • Contribute to proposal development, pitch materials, and funding strategies related to public sector and philanthropic opportunities

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Urban Studies, or a related field
    • Demonstrated experience conducting policy analysis, gap assessments, and program evaluations
    • Strong writing skills with experience drafting white papers, reports, and policy briefs
    • Experience working with or presenting to government agencies, elected officials, or senior public sector leaders
    • Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
    • Passion for sustainability, environmental justice, and systems-level change

What It Means to Join GPC

Joining Global Paint for Charity means contributing to real-world policy solutions that connect environmental sustainability with economic opportunity and community dignity.
