    Descrição

ClearPathNYC | New York, NY (Remote)

    About ClearPathNYC

ClearPathNYC is a nonprofit tech platform making it easier for young people in New York City to access housing, food, mental health, and social wellness resources. With over 7,000 resources available, we are building the “Google Maps for homeless youth” — a simple, trusted tool that helps young people find the support they need.

We’re seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves to code, can set technical direction, and is excited to use tech for social good.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead development of our platform using Firebase, Express, React, and Node.
    • Write, review, and ship clean, scalable code.
    • Manage database design, API development, and frontend performance.
    • Shape the long-term technology vision with the leadership team.
    • Build and mentor a small technical team as we grow.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong full-stack coding ability with React, Node.js, Express, and Firebase.
    • Proven ability to ship user-facing applications.
    • Experience in a senior engineering role (startup or nonprofit a plus).
    • Problem-solver who can communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teammates.
    • Passion for using technology to create social impact.

    Nice to Have:

    • Familiarity with deployment practices, automation tools, or DevOps workflows (CI/CD, etc.).
    • Experience with third-party API integrations.
    • Knowledge of data privacy/security best practices.

    Why Join Us

At ClearPathNYC, you’ll be more than a CTO — you’ll be a builder of tools that directly help thousands of young people navigate critical resources in our city. You’ll work with a mission-driven team committed to equity, innovation, and change.
