Metro Caring is Denver’s leading anti-hunger organization. We work to meet people’s immediate needs while simultaneously addressing the root causes of hunger. Our Fresh Foods Market is the heart of our operation, and the Warehouse Team is the engine that powers it. As a Warehouse Volunteer, you ensure our community has reliable access to high-quality, nutritious food by inspecting, cleaning, and sorting two to three tons of food daily.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspection: Inspect incoming food donations to ensure they meet our health and safety standards.
Sorting & Organization: Clean and sort diverse food items using proper food-handling techniques to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse.
Market Support: Play a crucial role in restocking the Fresh Foods Market, ensuring that shelves are full and ready for our community shoppers.
Inventory Maintenance: Assist the Food Access team in managing inventory flow to ensure food moves efficiently from the warehouse to the community.
Warehouse Safety: Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols to protect yourself, your teammates, and the food.
