St. Clair Shores - Local Community Hospice Volunteer Opportunities
Detalhes
Descrição
The community of St. Clair Shores and the surrounding area knows what it means to be a good neighbor. A strong community that looks out for each other whether it be on the docks, in the neighborhood, at a local shop, park, restaurant, or community event. Assistance within the community, for the community is needed as some are facing their most difficult journey—and they shouldn't have to do it alone.
We are looking for compassionate individuals to join our team of Hospice Volunteers. You don’t need a medical degree to make a difference; you just need a warm heart and a willing presence.
Why Your Presence Matters
Hospice isn't just about the end of life; it's about the quality of life. As a volunteer, you provide the "little things" that mean everything:
- Companionship: Sharing stories, reading a book, or simply holding a hand.
- Respite: Giving family caregivers a much-needed hour to rest or run errands.
- Legacy: Helping patients record memories or write letters to loved ones.
- Community: Ensuring no resident of St. Clair Shores feel forgotten.
What We Provide
We ensure you are fully prepared and supported every step of the way:
- Comprehensive Training: Learn about the hospice philosophy, communication techniques, and grief support.
- Flexible Scheduling: Whether it’s two hours a week or two hours a month, we work around your life.
- Local Impact: Serve your neighbors right here in the SCS community and surrounding areas.
"To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world."
