Descrição
At our Food Pharmacy volunteer physicians write “prescriptions” for low-income patients who have diabetes. Then, the patients are able to fill those prescriptions on-site at our Food Pharmacies. Each week, patients receive healthful foods (fresh produce, whole grains, and high-quality proteins), nutritional counseling, and health education.
We are looking for volunteers to support with unloading our food truck for our Food Pharmacy programming. This could entail unloading boxes that are between 20-40lbs. This work is a critical piece of bringing healthy foods to communities that need it most.
