Volunteer Position: Public Awareness and Social Media Volunteer

Organization: Kids and Car Safety

Location: Remote

Commitment: Flexible; 1-3 hours per month

Reports to: Family Support, Engagement, and Advocacy Manager

About the Role:

Public Awareness and Social Media Volunteers expand the reach of Kids and Car Safety by spreading critical car safety information online. By engaging with Kids and Car Safety's digital platforms, and sharing content with your own network, you will help to raise visibility, educate families, and potentially prevent child injuries and fatalities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow Kids and Car Safety on all social media platforms.
• Like, comment, and share Kids and Car Safety posts to increase visibility.
• Invite friends, family, and community members in your network or groups that you are a part of to follow Kids and Car Safety.
• Create and share your own posts to raise awareness of car safety issues and link to Kids and Car Safety articles or resources.
• Amplify awareness campaigns, observance days, and urgent safety alerts by sharing them widely.
• (Optional) Host a fundraiser on social platforms benefiting Kids and Car Safety

• Familiarly with social media platforms.
• Strong communication and digital engagement skills.
• Creativity in crafting posts and tailoring messages to your network.
• Passion for advocacy, child safety, and community education.
• Reliability in maintaining consistent engagement.

Training & Support:

• Orientation on Kids and Car Safety’s mission and key safety messages.
• Volunteers are required to complete this training video.
• Access to a library of posts, articles, and resources to share.
• Guidance from staff for special campaigns and awareness days.
