Volunteer Grant Specialist

The Culture Collective is seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Specialist to support our growing grant development efforts. This role is ideal for someone with experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, research, or proposal support who wants to contribute their skills to a community-based organization serving Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The volunteer will assist with developing and refining grant applications, reviewing funder requirements, preparing supporting documents, and helping strengthen proposal narratives. Depending on experience and availability, the role may also include monitoring grant opportunities and identifying new funding prospects that align with The Culture Collective’s programs.

Our current work includes Sarah’s Basket, a year-round food and essential-needs initiative, and Culture Conversations, a recurring community dialogue and peer-support program.

Responsibilities may include:

• Drafting and editing grant proposals and letters of inquiry
• Reviewing grant guidelines and eligibility requirements
• Assisting with application narratives, budgets, and supporting documents
• Researching and monitoring foundation, corporate, and community grant opportunities
• Maintaining organized notes on deadlines, requirements, and proposal status
• Supporting occasional grant reporting and follow-up documentation

Ideal Volunteer:

• Has grant writing, nonprofit development, research, or professional writing experience
• Is a strong writer and editor with attention to detail
• Can work independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines
• Is comfortable reviewing detailed application requirements
• Has an interest in community development, food access, youth and family support, or nonprofit capacity building
