Hospital Accompaniment Response Program (HARP) Volunteer

Hospital Accompaniment Response Program (HARP) Volunteers support survivors of sexual and domestic violence before, during, and after Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (S.A.N.E.) and/or a domestic violence forensic exams. This includes providing accompaniment, emotional support, crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals. Volunteers are on-call for two 12-hour shifts per month, with flexible scheduling across weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays. We are especially seeking volunteers who are available 6am-6pm Monday-Friday! Volunteers must be available to report to INOVA Fairfax Hospital within 30-40 driving minutes of receiving the call (the hospital is not metro accessible). Interested? Now recruiting for our Fall Cohort - to begin in September 2026.

Volunteers must be 18+, complete 40 hours of training on 1-2x evenings a week, and submit background checks before beginning. One year commitment required. Bilingual (including English and Spanish) applicants especially encouraged to apply!
