Engagement Overview
The Back-end Web Developer serves as the engine room of our digital ministry. This role is responsible for building and maintaining the server-side logic, managing database architecture, and ensuring seamless integration between our core systems and the user-facing platforms. By providing a stable and secure technical foundation, you enable our global community to engage with the Gospel without technical barriers.
Scope of Services
- Server-Side Development: Build, maintain, and optimize the core functional logic of the church's web applications.
- Database Management: Design and manage scalable database structures to support ministry data and user interactions.
- API Integration: Develop and implement robust APIs to connect front-end components with server-side services and third-party tools.
- Security & Performance: Monitor system security, implement data protection protocols, and optimize server-side performance for maximum speed and reliability.
- Infrastructure Collaboration: Coordinate with front-end developers and the IT team to troubleshoot issues and launch new digital features.
Professional Qualifications
- Proven experience in back-end development using languages such as Node.js, Python, or PHP.
- Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of web security best practices and API design principles.
- A heart for ministry and a commitment to utilizing technical skills for mission-driven work.
