    Descrição

We're looking for enthusiastic, culturally aware STEM Program Facilitators who can walk into a room of young women from underserved communities and make coding, data, finance, or AI feel like it was made for them. Because it was.

You'll specialize in one of four tracks and lead hands-on, interactive workshops that connect STEM skills to real life, real careers, and real possibilities. This is not a lecture-and-PowerPoint role. We need facilitators who build culture, spark curiosity, and show up as living proof that there is space for these girls in tech.

    CHOOSE YOUR TRACK

Facilitators specialize in ONE of the following four tracks:

    CodeHER Track

Teach programming fundamentals using Python, JavaScript, or HTML/CSS. Guide participants through real projects like building apps, designing games, or creating tools that solve problems in their communities.

    Data 4HER Track

Introduce data analysis concepts through Google Sheets, Excel, basic SQL, and data visualization. Participants learn to read data, build dashboards, and tell stories with numbers using examples they actually care about.

    Finance 4HER Track

Teach budgeting, saving, investing, credit, and financial planning in the culturally relevant, Gen Z voice our curriculum is built in. Help participants build the financial confidence to make real decisions for their futures.

    AI 4HER Track

Demystify AI and machine learning through hands-on, practical exploration. Cover AI tools, ethics, prompt engineering, and how AI is reshaping industries and careers, all in a way that centers these girls as future builders, not just users.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Workshop Facilitation (2.5 hours/ every 2 month)

    • Lead engaging, interactive workshops for small groups of young women ages 13–17
    • Break down complex STEM concepts into digestible, relatable lessons tied to real-world applications
    • Create a fun, supportive space where mistakes are celebrated as part of the process
    • Facilitate hands-on projects that participants can be proud of and show off
    • Adapt your teaching style to meet participants where they are, not where a curriculum assumes they should be
    • Use culturally relevant examples, references, and framing that resonate with the communities we serve
    • Encourage questions, peer collaboration, and the belief that they belong in these spaces

    Preparation & Planning (2 hours/ every 2 months)

    • Prepare workshop materials, activities, and presentations aligned to EmpowHERto's curriculum
    • Customize content to participant interests, skill levels, and feedback from previous sessions
    • Stay current on tools, trends, and news in your STEM track so your content stays fresh and relevant
    • Track participant progress and flag wins, challenges, and needs to program staff
    • Communicate proactively with the EmpowHERto team about anything that would affect program quality

    Community Building

    • Foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, and high expectations within every session
    • Show up as a visible, relatable role model, especially for girls who have never seen someone like them in STEM
    • Connect what participants are learning to real career opportunities and pathways
    • Celebrate every milestone, from first lines of code to first budget built
    • Be someone these young women remember. That's the job.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • Demonstrated knowledge and genuine passion for your chosen STEM track
    • Ability to explain technical concepts in plain, accessible language without losing depth
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with young adults
    • Cultural awareness and a real commitment to serving diverse, underserved communities
    • Energy, enthusiasm, and the kind of presence that makes young women feel seen and capable
    • Reliable internet connection for virtual sessions when applicable

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications in your STEM track
    • Experience working with girls, young women, or youth from underserved populations
    • Familiarity with virtual facilitation platforms like Zoom or Google Meet
