Spiritual Care/Faith Volunteer Opportunity

Location: Seattle, WA 98126

Setting: In-person visits with a participant who values connection, spirituality, and gentle companionship.

We are seeking a compassionate and grounded volunteer to provide spiritual companionship to one of our participants. She is a thoughtful and empathetic individual who communicates directly and honestly, though sometimes needs a little extra time to find the right words. She has a history of PTSD and depression and can occasionally feel overwhelmed, so a calm, patient presence is essential.

She enjoys:

• Christian spirituality and prayer
• Listening to NPR and watching TV
• Word searches and coloring
• Gentle conversation and quiet companionship

Visits may be scheduled and added to her GrandPad calendar (a user-friendly tablet she uses to stay connected).

Who Can Volunteer?

• Adults 18+ are welcome to volunteer independently.
• Youth under 18 may volunteer with a parent or guardian.
• Flexible scheduling - volunteer when it works best for you!

Volunteer Requirements

To ensure a safe and supportive environment for all, volunteers must complete:

• A Volunteer Application
• Background Screening
• Medical Screening
• Volunteer Onboarding through Providence Elder Place
