Walk-In Adult Literacy Tutor

Are you looking for a way to empower members of your community? If so, we would be glad to have your support for our weekly walk-in tutoring services!

Walk-in tutoring sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Literacy Lab. Drop in sessions are available to learners on a first-come, first served basis. Each session will allow learners 20 minutes to work on a subject or skill of their choice.

Our goal is to assist adults with achieving practical, targeted goals, such as:

• reading passages
• basic computer skills
• basic mobile phones skills
• conversational skills (gently and actively correct grammar, sentence structure, and/or assist with pronunciation)

For this volunteer role, we ask that you are willing to commit 1-2 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months.

Don't worry, no prior experience or additional language experience is necessary! We provide training before each volunteer begins their assignment.
