About The Merrick Movement

The Merrick Movement is a people-powered campaign for Florida’s 5th Congressional District dedicated to protecting families, defending civil liberties, and restoring integrity in government. Our campaign is rooted in justice, community empowerment, and standing up against systemic corruption.

We are looking for a Democratic Campaign Treasurer who shares our values and is ready to help build a compliant, transparent, and winning operation.

Position Overview

The Campaign Treasurer is the chief financial officer of The Merrick Movement and is legally responsible for ensuring that all contributions, expenditures, and reports are handled in compliance with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations.

This role is ideal for someone with prior experience as a treasurer for a Democratic campaign or PAC who understands campaign finance rules, enjoys working with numbers, and is passionate about electing strong Democratic leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the campaign’s bank account and oversee all deposits and disbursements.
• Track contributions, ensure all donations meet FEC compliance requirements, and issue receipts.
• File timely FEC reports (quarterly, pre-election, and post-election) and other required disclosures.
• Advise campaign leadership on cash flow, budget planning, and financial strategy.
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and compliance professionals to ensure accurate reporting.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards for transparency and accountability.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Registered Democrat or demonstrated alignment with Democratic values and platform.
  • Previous experience as a campaign treasurer or in campaign compliance for a Democratic candidate, PAC, or committee.
  • Familiarity with FEC reporting requirements and campaign finance law.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to commit to regular reporting deadlines and respond quickly to compliance questions.
• Preferred:
  • Experience with campaign finance software (NGP VAN, Numero, or similar).
  • Knowledge of Florida state campaign finance regulations (though this is a federal race).
  • CPA, bookkeeper, or finance professional background (not required but helpful).

Compensation

• This is a volunteer position at campaign launch with the potential for a stipend or paid role as fundraising increases.
