Mediation Matters, a community dispute resolution center serving the New York greater capital region is seeking a volunteer to provide 1,200 hours of service from 9/7/2026 through 8/30/2026.

The Family Services Specialist Volunteer supports family mediation and conflict resolution services for court-involved families in Albany and Saratoga Counties. Responsibilities include conducting intake and screening activities, assisting with case management, scheduling, participant communication, follow-up, and data tracking. The Volunteer supports mediation service delivery through observation, co-mediation, and facilitation opportunities following required training. Additional duties include providing support during Family Court coverage days, assisting with outreach and community education efforts, maintaining accurate case records, and participating in professional development related to mediation, restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and cultural responsiveness. The Volunteer helps expand timely access to high-quality dispute resolution services for families referred through Family Court.
