Description:
Suncrest Hospice is seeking compassionate and dedicated Bachelor’s and Master’s level Social Work students (BSW/MSW) to join our interdisciplinary team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience working with patients and families during one of life’s most important transitions.
As a hospice intern, you will have the chance to:
- Support patients and families through emotional, social, and practical challenges.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and learn the holistic hospice care model.
- Observe and assist with psychosocial assessments, care planning, and grief support.
- Develop therapeutic communication and advocacy skills in real-world settings.
- Learn about community resources, end-of-life care, and bereavement support.
This internship is ideal for social work students seeking to build strong interpersonal skills, deepen their understanding of end-of-life care, and make a meaningful impact in their community.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a BSW or MSW program (internship or field placement required).
- Compassionate, empathetic, and professional.
- Reliable transportation to visit patients and families (mileage reimbursement available for field visits).
- Able to pass background and health screenings per hospice regulations.
