Offer spiritual support to a hospice patient through scripture-reading, prayer, music, contemplative prayer, and your sweet presence. As a spiritual volunteer, you receive special training to spend time with a hospice patient, guided by the care plan that they create with their spiritual care coordinator / chaplain.
You must pass a background check, TB test, complete orientation (at your own pace), feel comfortable with spiritual matters and be beyond evangelizing. The Spiritual Support Volunteer walks the journey with the patient, not telling them how to walk their journey.
