Overview:
The Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training (MCVET) is seeking engaged and mission-driven individuals to serve on its Governing Board. Board members play a vital role in providing strategic oversight, organizational governance, and advancing MCVET’s mission to support homeless and at-risk veterans in their journey toward self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve a three-year term on the MCVET Governing Board.
- Attend and participate in a minimum of 4–6 board meetings annually.
- Actively serve on at least one board committee, contributing expertise, time, and energy to help drive its goals forward.
- Provide strategic direction, fiduciary oversight, and organizational governance.
- Support MCVET’s fundraising, outreach, and advocacy efforts when appropriate.
- Promote and represent MCVET’s mission within your personal and professional networks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military or veteran background, or significant experience working with veteran-related issues.
- Experience in nonprofit governance, leadership, or community engagement is a plus.
