QUICK OVERVIEW
Tutors are needed to help underserved children get caught up and back on track in reading, math and other core courses "online." Tutor sessions will be between the hours of 3:30pm-6:30pm, 90 minutes or less, one to two days a week for the entire school term.
MISSION
Joseph Learning Lab is an educational outreach nonprofit organization. We are on a mission to close the learning gap, reduce the dropout rate, and develop underserved students of all ages and diverse backgrounds by allowing them an equal opportunity for learning and personal growth. We tutor and mentor underserved children, who are being left behind the learning curve.
IMPACT
Volunteers will be able to help students from grade 1st - high school with homework so they can get caught up, mostly in reading and math. Allowing students to grasp learning concepts to improve their confidence, get caught up and on track with grades, and test scores.
VOLUNTEER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteers will tutor children online in our Nonprofit Classroom/Google Meet tutoring sessions. The tutor sessions are conducted for 90 minutes or less, one to two days a week, between 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm PST for the entire school term. (Training provided)
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers are expected to have some college education, child friendly, and complete an application/brief tutor screening form/brief background check before tutoring with JLL. Orientation/Training will be provided by JLL.
