Volunteer PAL Tutors for High School Students

Tutoring is important because each student learns in unique ways and at a different pace. It gives you a chance to work with youth and gain teaching and leadership experience. Knowing that you are making a difference in the life of young students and aiding in their academic growth is genuinely self-rewarding!

Help our high school PAL Kids complete their homework assignments and use tools to improve their core math, science, history, or language arts skills. We are looking for individuals who can teach high school level reading, writing, science, history, and math. Join us and have a significant impact on a child’s future. Hollywood PAL is dedicated to helping low-income youth in the Hollywood Community.

Hollywood PAL is willing to sign off on any community service hours and volunteer hours. This is a great opportunity for college and high school students to complete service hours or curriculum requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

~Provide one on one tutoring sessions to students

~Provide students with skills and key concepts to help solving problems or composing Essays

~ Foster a proactive and positive learning environment for students

~Commit 2 hours per week to meeting with your assigned student

When: Tutoring Hours are flexible: Mondays through Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm (PST).

On-Site Location: Hollywood PAL Office, 6501 Fountain Ave

Virtual Location: Zoom Link will be provided

Kids: The kids being tutored are between the grades 8th to 12th
