Donation Pick-Up Assistant

If you have a big heart and a strong back, you can help low-income families achieve their dreams of homeownership! We go out and pick up donations in the community from businesses and residential areas. As a Donation Pick Up Assistant, you will ride along with our Truck Driver to help load and unload these donations.

Volunteer Shifts

Residential and Business pickups: Monday / Wednesday / Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 p.m or until all the locations have been picked up at. Two Saturdays per month.

Donation Pick Up Assistant Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the truck driver to pick up donations in community
• Greet and thank donors (represent Habitat and ReStore in a positive manner)
• Load donations onto truck
• Fill out donation slips
• Answer truck phone and call donors before pickups
• Ability to clearly explain ReStore’s mission
• Assist with unloading and organizing donations at the ReStore

Desired Skills & Experience

• Age 18+
• Able to do heavy lifting (100+ lbs)
• Able to talk on the phone and provide customer service

Training & Resources provided

• ½ hour orientation
• Truck driver is always present to answer questions while completing pickups
