Volunteer Advocate for Sexual Assault Response Network (SARN)
Detalhes
Descrição
HelpLine is recruiting for SARN volunteers in the counties we serve (Delaware, Morrow, Union, Crawford and Wyandot.) Volunteer advocates help provide on-call coverage for our 24/7 rape crisis response. Advocates provide emotional support and resources to survivors when they are at the emergency room or at a local law enforcement department. HelpLine will provide all the necessarily training; you provide the empathy. The survivors will not remember what you said or what you did; they just appreciate someone being there at their time of need.
Our advocates are placed on a schedule that is updated monthly. Your time commitment is flexible and can change as needed. The idea is that you are committing to being available to respond to a call-out for 10-12 hours at a time. This doesn't mean you will receive the call to assist a survivor every time you say you're able to, but we know that you can be called if needed. For example, some people can only make themselves available for 2 Saturdays and Sundays a month. Some people are able to be available some weeknights but never the weekend. That is totally ok!
