At CommunityHealth, we rely on generous volunteer interpreters to make sure our Spanish-speaking patients have the opportunity to communicate successfully with their care providers.
Spanish interpreters should be fluent in both Spanish and English, and will have the unique opportunity to assist medical providers and patients in the exam room, for a variety of appointment types, including primary care, dental, and over 20 specialties.
Volunteers commit to at least two four-hour shifts per month for at least one year, with the option to do more. Training on medical vocabulary is provided, but basic fluency is a must!
In response to COVID-19, our volunteer interpreters are currently serving remotely, by phone. The program will stay remote, by phone indefinitely as we monitor the pandemic.
