Victim Outreach Inc. (VOI) is a nonprofit organization that provides victim services for 8 jurisdictions in Jefferson County, Colorado. VOI promotes the healing of people impacted by crime and trauma in our community.
We are recruiting volunteers to assist victims with support in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic experience through an immediate on-scene response when requested by our law enforcement partners. Volunteers are tasked with providing crisis intervention, emotional support, explaining next steps of the process, sharing information and resources with victims, and assessing and meeting the immediate needs of the people they are working with. A volunteer advocate's response and intervention is a crucial first step in a victim's path towards healing and recovery.
Our volunteer advocates cover night, weekend and holiday shifts 4-6 times a month on an on-call basis. We provide all training, supplies and ongoing education. This is a really unique opportunity to do meaningful volunteer work, help your community, learn about the criminal justice process and meet other awesome people!
