Tree Planting - Southside Park

Join Southside Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) and ReWild Sacramento in partnership with the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth Parks and Community Enrichment (YPCE) for a fun and rewarding morning of park beautification.

Volunteers will plant, stake and spread mulch to approximately 20 new trees. The planting holes will be pre-dug and backfilled, making them easy to clear and ready for planting.

No tree-planting experience necessary! We'll provide a demonstration on proper planting techniques and safety. practices.

Trees and stakes are provided through a generous partnership between SMUD and The Sacramento Tree Foundation.

All tools will be provided by YPCE.

What to bring:

• Work gloves
• Closed toe shoes
• Weather appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty
• refillable water bottles
• Community spirit

Youth groups and students can receive credit for volunteer hours.
