Hospice Companion Volunteers

Looking for people to volunteer who are 18 yrs or older. The volunteer candidate needs to be reliable and trustworthy with a compassionate heart. These people would visit with our patients as a companion providing no personal care. Hospice volunteers may read to the patient, play cards, allow them to talk about their lives and feelings, etc. If the patient resides in a home setting, a volunteer may be asked to assist with light housework or provide the opportunity for the caregiver to run to the grocery or go to an appointment. Our Volunteer Coordinator works very hard to match volunteers with patients, environments and assignments that they are comfortable with.

A criminal background check, TB skin tests and training are required and provided for free by Heart to Heart Hospice.
