With their patient-centered listening skills, our dedicated Clinical Nurse - Phone Support volunteers assess the health concerns of our patients over the phone and determine the appropriate level of medical care needed. Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform health assessments by engaging in patient-centered communication through open-ended questions, active listening, and soliciting patients’ areas of concern and expectations.
• Assess the urgency and severity of patient conditions to determine the appropriate course of action.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and assessment outcomes.
• Accurately relay important patient information to the attending provider for timely and efficient medical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Certified/Licensed LPN or RN.
• At least one year experience with direct patient care.
• Superior verbal and listening skills.
• Strong typing and computer ability necessary to document information gathered during a telephone conversation.
