West Tuality Habitat for Humanity believes affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and is a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our programs not only build homes, they build community.
West Tuality Habitat operates the Forest Grove ReStore, which sells gently used items, and a few new items, to fund the programs of West Tuality Habitat. We need volunteers to help customers have a great experience at our ReStore. In this role you will come to the ReStore in Forest Grove for at least 2-3 hours on ANY day of your choosing (up to 8 hours a day), or multiple days, Monday through Saturday. The ReStore is open 9 to 5, Monday through Saturday. We are especially in need of help on SATURDAYS!
You will wear a snazzy blue vest that identifies you as a ReStore volunteer, and you may do any of the following (and if you are unable to do any of the following, you just let us know!):
The Forest Grove ReStore is a critical fundraising tool for all of the housing programs of West Tuality Habitat for Humanity. Our vision is a community where everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. We do Critical Home Repairs for for our neighbors who are disabled, veterans, elderly, or have low or fixed-incomes. We also build affordable housing units alongside the future homeowners.
This is a great role for someone who just wants to be helpful, someone who is knew to working and wants to learn customer service skills, and anyone who is interested in, or with existing experience in, retail sales, customer service, or marketing - or just likes to be helpful! This is a role that can be done by up to five volunteers on the same shift.
We are happy to sign off on any paperwork if you undertake this role for a class or if you want to do this for assigned community service.
We are right on TriMet Line 57!
We already involve volunteers in most aspects of our house-building and home repairs - but we want the community involved and invested even more in what we do, and a way to do that is involving more volunteers. In addition, we want to keep as much of our finances as possible into those home-building and home repair activities, to support vulnerable families in Western Washington County, Oregon. We have even more volunteering opportunities listed on our web site at www.westualityhabitat.org
During service, volunteers are representatives of Habitat for Humanity and our mission. In addition to complying with all laws, regulations and Habitat for Humanity policies, all volunteers are expected to follow Habitat’s Code of Conduct.
