Summary of Position
Support the Jeffco Parks & Open Space mission by independently leading small groups of volunteers on trail maintenance projects throughout our parks.
Duties
Represent JCPOS by being a visible and approachable presence in our parks
Lead volunteer groups in safe and successful group projects
Complete a report after each project, tracking volunteer hours and work accomplished statistics
Educate volunteers on the JCPOS mission while on trail projects
Requirements
Be in good physical condition
Follow Crew Leader uniform guidelines
Complete required training and mentoring
Volunteers must abide by JCPOS Park Regulations and established volunteer policies and procedures outlined in the JCPOS Volunteer Handbook
Lead a minimum of four group projects per calendar year

- Attend New Volunteer Orientation
- All new volunteers are required to attend New Volunteer Orientation at JCPOS Headquarters to become familiar with the entire JCPOS system prior to specific program training. You must pre-register for orientation on Offero. Registration links are provided upon receipt of your application.
- Attend Program Specific Training
- Training will consist of one introductory meeting (2 hours) at a park in late March (date, time, and location TBD) followed by a commitment to participate in 2 weekday trail maintenance volunteer projects (6 hours each) between late March and mid-May, with a final wrap up training (2 hours) in late May (date, time, and location TBD) for a total of 16 hours.
