About Mending Our Mistakes, Inc. (M.O.M.):
For the best interest of all children, our mission is to disrupt cycles of poverty by equipping parents with specialized skills and economic tools to earn livable wages, solve environmental issues, and create generational wealth for the families that depend on them.
M.O.M. is an emerging 501(c)(3) community economic development organization. We are actively working to launch the Arkansas Heritage Trade Academy (AHTA)—a specialized training initiative focused on high-wage historic preservation skilled trades ($18–$35+/hr)—and to develop disaster-resilient workforce housing for the working parents we employ.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an organized, enthusiastic Volunteer Recruiter to help build our remote launch team! In this role, you will help attract, screen, and onboard talented remote volunteers across key startup areas like grant research, corporate partnerships, civic outreach, and web development.
Because we deploy multiple recruiters, you can focus on a specific platform (such as Idealist, VolunteerMatch, or LinkedIn) or manage a specific category of roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post & Manage Listings: Upload pre-written volunteer job descriptions to assigned volunteer platforms and college job boards.
- Screen Applicants: Review incoming applications and conduct brief 15-minute introductory video or phone check-ins.
- Track the Pipeline: Log candidate progress in our shared Google Sheet tracker so the recruitment team stays synchronized in real time.
- Onboard New Team Members: Send welcome packets, the M.O.M. Executive Cheat Sheet, and standardized 1-page task guides to approved volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Organized and comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Background or interest in human resources, recruiting, communications, or non-profit management.
- Passion for community economic development, skilled trades, and supporting working families.
