CASA - The Voice of Clark County's Children
Position Title: Court Appointed Special Advocate
Purpose of Position: Advocate for the best interest of an abused/neglected child who is involved in court proceedings in Clark County IN.
Qualifications:
21 years of age or older.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Work compatibly with others.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Application Process:
Complete the Volunteer Application form.
Provide three references unrelated to applicant.
Submit two background checks.
Complete a face to face interview.
Training Requirements:
Complete 30 hours of Volunteer Training.
Complete 12 hours of continued training annually.
Child Advocate Responsibilities:
Interview the child and relevant adults and gather as much factual information as possible. Collaboratively and professionally work with others involved in the case.
Review records regarding the case.
Submit a report to the court with recommendations that are in the best interest of the child.
Attend court hearings.
