Become a VPMMA Mentor: Empowering Heroes through Strategic Pro Bono Leadership

Are you ready to transform your professional expertise into a legacy of impact? The Veteran Project Manager Mentor Alliance (VPMMA) invites you to join our 100% volunteer-driven mission to guide military service members, veterans, and their spouses toward career excellence.

As a mentor, you aren't just sharing advice—you are practicing high-impact Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by helping our "Alliance Heroes" navigate the profound life shifts of military transition. By leveraging your project management expertise, you provide veterans with the tools to lead and thrive in the civilian workforce.

    Your Impactful Roles

We offer flexible, remote pro bono opportunities designed to fit your professional schedule:

    • 1:1 Strategic Mentorship: Forge a dedicated partnership over approximately six months, providing bespoke advice and actionable feedback to help a mentee achieve specific career milestones. (Commitment: 2–5 hours weekly)
    • Group Collaborative Leadership: Facilitate dynamic group sessions or serve on panels, fostering a community of shared learning through monthly themes relevant to veteran transitions. (Commitment: 3–5 hours weekly)
    • "On-Call" Expert Advisor: Serve as a subject-matter expert by responding to specific mentee inquiries via email and providing timely insights when needed most. (Commitment: Flexible)

    Who You Are

We seek passionate professionals who believe in the transformative power of mentorship.

    • The Communicator: You possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.
    • The Guide: You have experience in coaching or training and a deep respect for the unique challenges faced by the military community.
    • The Professional: You are proficient in digital collaboration tools and committed to upholding the highest ethical standards.
    • Requirements: Fluent in English, access to a computer/internet, and two professional references.

    The Rewards of Service

Volunteering with VPMMA is a mutually beneficial journey of growth:

    • Professional Development: Upskill in leadership and coaching while gaining access to Google Certificates on Coursera.
    • Networking: Connect with a supportive network of industry leaders and like-minded advocates.
    • Recognition: Earn eligibility for Volunteer of the Month/Year awards and letters of recommendation.
    • Purpose: Experience the profound fulfillment of strengthening veteran families and building brighter futures.

    Position Details

    • Location: 100% Remote.
    • Committee: Programs & Career Services (Mentorship).
    • Term: A suggested 12-month commitment to ensure continuity for our heroes.
