Purpose:
The Programs Director helps guide intervention design by providing oversight, and program leadership for core initiatives. Ensure that programs remain in accord with the organization's mission, are health-informed, community-relevant, and grounded in public health principles.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives
- Provide oversight and guidance on educational and health programming
- Help strengthen the quality, relevance, and public-health value of Human Biology® programming.
- Advise on curriculum direction, program integrity, and appropriate health-centered standards
- Support development of mission-aligned interventions that reflect preventive wellness goals
- Develop partnerships with clinicians, dietitians, educators, and public health professionals
- Offer informed input on program design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement
- Support the organization in maintaining responsible, and evidence-informed messaging
- Align programming with organizational priorities by scaling community impact goals
Length of term: Two years
Time Commitment: As required to accomplish major duties
Reporting: The Programs Director reports to the Board Chair and to the Board of Trustees
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives
- Strong understanding of preventive health, nutrition education, community wellness, or plant-based health programming
- Understanding of community health education and practical approaches to disease prevention
- Commitment to improving social determinants of health outcomes through accessible, responsible, and mission-driven programming
- Preferred Background: MD, DO, RD, RDN, RN, CNS, DPH, MPH, PA, NP, BSPH.
