    Descrição

    ORIONA Organization is seeking a committed and emotionally intelligent individual to serve as a Mental Health & Peer Support Facilitator, supporting refugee youth through structured psychosocial programs and community-based care frameworks.

    This role is not symbolic, it is impact-driven, focused on strengthening resilience, emotional well-being, and peer-to-peer support systems within vulnerable communities.

    Role Overview

    The Mental Health & Peer Support Facilitator will design, support and guide psychosocial initiatives tailored to refugee youth, particularly in contexts such as Kakuma Refugee Camp. The facilitator will contribute to building safe, inclusive and empowering support environments. Both virtually and through structured program design.

    Key Responsibilities

    1.Facilitate or support virtual peer support sessions for youth.

    2.Create frameworks and toolkits for peer-to-peer counseling.

    3.Provide guidance on mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and well-being

    4.Collaborate with program teams to integrate mental health into education, livelihoods and community activities

    5.Ensure all approaches are ethical, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    1.Background or strong interest in:

    Psychology

    Counseling

    Social Work

    Peace & Conflict Studies

    2.Experience (formal or informal) in peer support, mentoring or community engagement.

    3.Strong communication and listening skills.

    4.Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable populations

    5.Understanding of refugee or humanitarian contexts is an added advantage

    Commitment

    1.Remote (Flexible hours)

    2.Minimum commitment: 4 hours per week

    3.Duration: 1 months (renewable based on performance and impact)
