Volunteers are needed to provide transportation for essential needs to ambulatory older adults living in Mecklenburg County who can no longer drive. Essential needs are defined as medical appointments (doctor, dentist, pharmacy, therapy, etc.), bank, grocery store or food bank, and other errands. Volunteers will use their own car and are offered mileage reimbursement. After a quick training, this is a great opportunity to fill a need for a older adults in our area. Volunteers can see requested rides and match themselves with someone at a time and area that suites your week. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity for you that makes a huge difference in someone's week! Volunteers say often at the Shepherd's Center that "it is more than just a ride!"
